NY State Bus Contract

Arcola has been awarded a contract for what is estimated to be 170 vehicles per year. The bus bodies will be manufactured by Supreme Startrans and mounted of Ford E350 chassis. The initial term of the contract is to December 14, 2010 but may be extended for a total of 5 years. Order forms for NYSOGS Contract #PC64220 can be downloaded off of this web site. It is anticipated that there will be many add-ons to this contract. In the past, Alaska, Vermont, New Jersey, Maryland, Michigan and Wisconsin have participated in purchasing off the the contract.
State of New Jersey Contract for Parts

Arcola Sales & Service Corp. has been awarded a 3 year contract by the State of New Jersey for the purchase of automotive parts for heavy duty vehicles. The products covered are OEM parts for:
- Collins school buses
- Supreme Startrans shuttle buses and paratransit vehicles
- Ricon wheelchair lift parts
Discounts offered under the contract range from 5 to 15%.
Hybrid Electric Buses Delivered to PennDOT

Arcola Bus Sales has delivered 10 hybrid buses to Rabbit Transit in York County, PA. The eighteen passenger Azure/StarTrans Hybrid Para-transit Citibuses will be used to expand its shared-ride program.
The buses were purchased under a contract awarded to Arcola by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, which has an option for 15 additional buses.
The Azure Series-Hybrid CitiBus system specified by PennDOT has unique attributes like engine-off driving while electronically supporting key ancillary functions like air conditioning, power steering and braking. The powertrain, with a GM Vortec 4.8L engine, offers over a 40% improvement in fuel economy, and a 30% reduction in carbon emissions in city conditions. The powertrain also offers a 25% reduction in engine maintenance and a 75% reduction in brake maintenance versus conventionally equipped competitors.

School Bus Fleet Management & Maintenance Service Contract

Arcola Sales & Service Corp. has been awarded a contract to manage a fleet of 155 school buses operated by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Office of Education and DYFS Residential Centers. The four year contract includes Preventative Maintenance, semi-annual MVC school bus inspections and management of all repairs on the vehicles that are operated out of 20 sites throughout the State. Arcola has an established network of service providers throughout NJ to perform the required services within a 30 mile radius of each site.
MTA Long Island Bus orders Heavy Duty Cutaway Buses

Arcola Bus Sales has been awarded a multi-year contract to supply up to 92 diesel powered small Transit Buses to LI Bus. Arcola will be providing Aero Elite bus bodies manufactured by ElDorado National. Two configurations will be supplied, one capable of accommodating 4 wheelchairs and the other 5 wheelchairs. Flexible seating arrangements will enable both to carry 10 ambulatory passengers. Seeking heavy duty vehicles, these relatively small bodies will be mounted on International 3200 chassis.
